I bought the Aztec canopy 1 pole not for an Aztec tent but for my Outwell Nevada 3 (now called Nevada S). An alternative was the Vango Large Sun Canopy but I was able to buy the Aztec for just £19.
It wasn't the easiest to position and pitch, certainly not for one adult and a seven-year-old; and I don't think that this is because I was attaching a canopy of one brand to the tent of another. The extension on my Outwell Minnesota, for example, is easy to position because it clips on to the tent's poles at several places; this is not the case with the Aztec which just has one end of the canopy positioned over the door of the tent and kept in place by guy ropes that, in part, go over the tent roof and then down its sides. Also, because it just has the one pole, gauging where to position the pegging points where a second pole would go is a little hit and miss.
The Vango is easier to position and pitch for two reasons: it has two poles and the end of the canopy that fits over the tent door is elasticated so it fits more snugly.
Another slight disadvantage to the Aztec is that it has no windows and so can feel a little closed in; the Vango does have windows.
For £19 I shouldn't complain too much but there is little doubt that the Vango is the better canopy. I guess that it depends on how cheaply you can buy that for.
